Santorini Island curves round a giant lagoon in the Cyclades islands, offering stunning views from sky-high towns, eclectic cuisine, lovely galleries, thriving nightlife and excellent wines.
This photography guide in Santorini will show you the best spots on the island to take breath-taking photographs.
Blue Hour From the Oia Castle
Every night at sunset, crowds form at Oia Castle to watch the sun go down. It's a bit of a zoo as this is one of the more popular photo destinations. But if you wait a bit, you can capture this magnificent view of the town of Oia lit up at blue hour showcasing the windmill. Don't look out towards the sun, instead look back at the city.

Find the Blue Domes of Oia
It's the iconic postcard shot of the island. As you walk along the main marble streets of Oia back from the castle, look for a ritzy looking jewellery store on the main street. Walk down the alley towards the water and you'll see the domes as you look out over the caldera.

Sunset Over The Rooftops in Oia
If you walk a little farther East from the three domes, you'll find this rooftop in Oia. It makes for a great vantage point for sunset and you can capture the sun going down over the city.
The Three Bells of Fira
Just up the stairs from Mama Thira's house in the town of Fira, you will find this beautiful blue dome overlooking the Caldera. Make your way to Mama Thira and walk up to the top of the cliff. You'll come to a parking lot. Look over and you’ll find this beautiful photo spot.
Sunrise and Sunset in Imerovigli
Everyone always talks about the sunsets in Santorini, but the sunrises are pretty special too. Take a walk with right before dawn and when the sun rises and the picture perfect moment has arrived, that’s the perfect moment to capture.
Imerovigli is the perfect town to capture sunrises and sunset because you capture the high sea cliffs as well as the town and neighbouring city Firostefani.
